- Enhanced capacity of e-ticketing system from 2,000 tickets/min to 7,200/min. Supporting 1.2 lakh concurrent users now, as opposed to 40,000 earlier.
- Sale of tickets through hand held terminals. The 'Points of Sale' to have minimal infrastructure requirement.
- Facility of cancellation through the 139 helpline post verification using OTP
- E-ticketing facility to foreign debit/credit cards
- Bar coded tickets, scanners and access control on a pilot basis
- Increased quota for senior citizens and women travellers this year
- Expansion of Vikalp - train on demand to provide choice of accommodation in specific trains to WL passengers
- To offer optional travel insurance for rail journeys at the time of booking.
- Integrate all facilities into two mobile apps dealing with ticketing issues and for receipt and redressal of complaints and suggestions.
- Sale of platform tickets through ticket vending machines compatible with cash & credit/debit cards
- Progressively ensure CCTV coverage at tatkaal counters.
- Plan to institutionalise a system of third party periodic audits and certification of security features of the PRS website.
