In this interaction, we asked him to throw some light on how Digital Marketing can be effectively used to build a brand image of our Partners and thus help grow their businesses.

ES: What is Digital Marketing?

Samanvay: Online or Digital marketing is more than having just a nice website. It is a set of strategies that are designed to draw people's attention towards your website or capture leads form a webpage and convert them into clients. Millions of people are using the Internet for viewing news, shopping, bookings, banking, stocks, social media, etc. With Digital Marketing you can reach your defined audience faster and get targeted leads.

ES: Why is Digital Marketing gaining popularity?

Samanvay: One of the reasons why digital marketing is growing over conventional marketing techniques is the ability of Internet Marketing tools to interact with targeted audiences in real time.

ES: Why do you need Digital Marketing?

Samanvay: Digital Marketing is the newest and best way to reach out to prospective customers and draw them towards your business. You already know that millions of people are using the Internet each day to search some or the other things. Thousands of these people are in your region and are looking for local opportunities. Your prospective customers are online and are searching for you. You want to make it easy for them to find you and that is what digital marketing is all about.

ES: How does Digital Marketing provides a competitive advantage to NJ Partners?

Samanvay: Your competitors are also out there seeking business from these prospective customers. If they are not already using online marketing strategies to attract these customers, it will not be too long before they do. You need to make sure that you have an effective online marketing strategy in place, so that you can have the competitive edge. And if at all they are also using this medium, we at NJ are doing this in a very effective and in an economical way, as our role is to empower our partners.

ES: What does it take to run / implement Digital Marketing strategies?

Samanvay: Digital marketing is simple but not easy, you need help of a professional to come up with a proper strategy. Without a strategy, playing around with a blog, Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc., will be useless. With the right strategy, these tools can bring in new customers and create loyal followers from present customers. Also most importantly, this strategy requires regular reviews and updates to get meaningful results, and not to mention save money to get cost effective ROI.

Key findings of some of the Recent Digital Marketing Surveys are –

  1. 34% of the companies already had an integrated Digital Marketing strategy in place in 2016

  2. 72% marketers believe that traditional model of marketing is no longer sufficient

  3. Company revenue driven by Internet Marketing is likely to increase by 30%

  4. In 2017, 80% of the businesses will increase their Digital Marketing budget

  5. Digital Marketing budget may surpass the IT budget in 2017

ES: What is the future of Digital Marketing?

Samanvay: To devise result-oriented marketing plans and campaigns, mobile marketing is going to play one of the most significant roles in 2017. Understanding customers’ changing needs and characteristics lets marketers plan in a result-oriented fashion. As per stats-

  • Current Outlook of Mobile Marketing in Driving Customer-Engagement- 40% (approx)

  • Future Outlook of Mobile Marketing in Driving Customer-Engagement- 75% (approx)

From consumers’ device usage perspective, Smart phone adoption and prevalence of mobile apps and messaging are going to be the topmost trends of Digital Marketing in 2017. From Facebook’s Mobile Messenger, to Whatsapp and WeChat, we have been witnessing the growing inclination of consumers to communicate directly through mobiles compared to social network pages. Soon, a time will come with new options for paid media on mobile messaging apps that will further be boosted by Artificial Intelligence, which is another trend that will go hand in hand with mobile marketing. Brands are developing bots to engage customers, and Facebook’s Bot Engine for Messenger and Google’s new assistance service introduced in Google I/O 2016 indicated the rise of Artificial Intelligence to provide more personalized and interactive assistance to consumers through mobile marketing.

  • More than 52% searches are done through mobile.

  • 89% of Facebook Daily Active users are on mobile.

  • 83% of Facebook advertising revenue comes through Smart phones.

  • 92% of mobile media time is spent in smart phone apps by consumers.

ES: Should you stop using normal marketing activities if using Digital Marketing?

Samanvay: Marketing is a big subject and as per my experience, restricting to one type of activity will not suffice. Marketing is an ongoing process and doing promotional activities through all possible mediums will fetch results. You never know which medium your prospective client will get attracted to and give you business.

So, you should use different marketing activities from bizMall, which will guide you as to how and when things should be displayed and which medium should be used, so that desired results can be achieved.
