ES: Please introduce yourself and also share your vision and mission or goals in life.

Balakrishna: My name is Balakrishnan Venkataramani, I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERCM and the Proprietor of VENSIVA Financial Solutions and have been in this field of financial services for the past 14 years.

Our mission is to provide our clients with the best solutions in wealth creation and wealth management. To delight our clients with a Financial Plan to achieve their cherished goals keeping in mind their desires, income sources, liabilities and responsibilities. We are driven to provide clients with simple, unbiased and uncluttered professional advice that adds value to their quality of life and results in actionable solutions.

ES: What inspired you to choose the career of a financial advisor / distributor?

Balakrishna: I saw there was an opportunity for spreading financial awareness and making a difference in people’s lives, success became a by-product.

ES: Do you promote the idea of savings through MF SIP in your clients?

Balakrishna: Very much, I even encourage them to start liquid sips to take care of short term goals like vacation, insurance payments etc while utilising equity sips for longer term goals like child education, retirement etc.

ES: Your experience with NJ's technology initiatives in terms of various Desks for Clients & Partners?

Balakrishna: NJ has been at the forefront of innovative technology initiatives for partners and our clients. Rather than adapt to change, they have been good in anticipating industry changes and accordingly re-orient the strategies so that we are ahead of the competition. Con-calls, webinars etc save us so much time in terms of travel specially in a place like Mumbai while giving us the same opportunity to interact with the fund houses, insurance companies and as well the NJ Management who regularly update us about the various changes. I also like the when partner suggestions for improving NJ Partner and Client desk are taken into account and introduced. This helps us stay ahead in the race for providing better service for our clients and that results in more business for all of us.

ES: How much importance do you give to Asset Allocation & Risk Profile while offering solution to clients need?

Balakrishna: Very much, I understand my prospective and new clients overall requirements and provide solutions only after a thorough study of their assets, liabilities, income sources and expenses. This exercise help me to know their current asset ratio in terms of real estate, equity, debt, gold etc, their risk profile and design appropriate strategies to take care of goals – short, medium and long and accordingly prioritise funds available.

ES: Winning the trust of a Client is not an easy task. How do you think you can win the trust of the Clients?

Balakrishna: As I said earlier, when the drive is to make a difference in people’s lives, success becomes a by-product. Our paramount belief is “In Your Prosperity Lies Ours” and that is visible in our dealings. Our clients are our source of existence and as we help them grow, they help us grow in turn. My primary source of business has been strong referrals from my clients who go out of their way to recommend us to their friends, colleagues and family.

ES: What suggestion / advice you would like to give to new Partners who have yet not established themselves in the business?

Balakrishna: Clear communication about the investment strategies, keeping expectations realistic, being consistent in advice is very important for building a long term business.

ES: Can you please share your short term and long term targets for your business.

Balakrishna: I work at my own pace now unlike earlier when I started out way back in 2005 in the financial services field and believe in quality work over quantity. I choose which clients to work with. I believe self-study should be a never ending practice and always feel there is more to know and due to that I read and watch a lot of educational videos and due to that I derive a lot of pride in the time, effort and study that I put into each goal of my client and when the end result ie. the solution which I present to my client exceeds their expectation, the high I get from that is my target every time.
